Guest Posting at ConservationGardening.com
As some of you know, the past few months have been a challenge for me, slowly recovering from a badly broken leg, but the silver lining of my recovery is that I've had lots of time to read, write and spend time in cyberspace. Along the way, I've 'met' some great people who share my passion for earth-friendly gardening. Carole Brown, who has a website and blog called Ecosystem Gardening, invited me to showcase our habitat garden in a guest posting this week.

This is my first visit, I came via the New England Bird House Blog and you have a wonderful blog. I am trying to change what we have here in a house we moved to 5 years ago that has a pond and woods to a more natural native type setting. I am not a gardener, but am trying to learn so I am going to read some more and visit the link you suggested. I hope that your leg heals well and I know there is a lot of rehab usually....Michelle

hi Michelle - welcome, and thanks for stopping by! I just checked out your blog and it's wonderful! I love the duckling photos. We have had a mallard soap opera going on in our pond for several years but sadly, no ducklings that we have seen. We keep hoping! You should add your blog to the Nature Blog Network...
Take care and Happy New Year to you and yours!
Ellen

I just arrived on your blog and have been checking out your older posts and pictures, including the overview of your lovely place on Conservation Gardening. Your blog is a delight, the pictures give me such a sense of order and beauty. I know it's hard work but it all looks easy, natural, and timeless. Very New England. I'm with your husband about the two level grass lawn, I like it.

hi Laurrie - thanks for the comments and welcome! Love the name of your blog! I don't think we have the same weeds because mine are not usually apologetic as they spread themselves around with abandon...I do leave a lot of them, though, eg Jewelweed for the hummingbirds, and Asters of all kinds for pollinators and birds.
